Kérkyra Town has plenty to offer in the way of bars and nightlife. On the Listón, avoid the mark-ups at the Magnet and follow the locals to Aegli , Europa or Olympia , or drink in one of the hotels; the Cavalieri rooftop bar can be heaven at night and stays open till the wee hours. For local atmosphere, try Dirty Dick's , on the corner of Arseníou and Zavitsiánou, or the expat hangout Mermaid , on Ayíon Pandón off the Listón, which will give you a different spin on island culture.

Corfu's self-proclaimed disco strip lies a couple of kilometres north of town, past the New Port. Here, at nightclubs like Symplegma , the Hippodrome (the town's biggest disco, with its own pool), and the bizarrely decorated Apokalypsis and Coca , party animals dress up for wild and fairly expensive nights out. In some clubs, women travelling without male partners should beware of kamákia - slang for Greek males "spearfishing" for foreign women. Somewhat calmer and smaller watering holes on the same strip include Ethnik and Pagoda . Kérkyra Town's two cinemas - the winter Orfeus on the corner of Akadhimías and Aspióti and the open-air summer Phoenix down the side street opposite - both show mostly English-language films.
